The journey of placing a child for adoption carries profound emotions and experiences that extend beyond the adoption process. Caring for Kids offers a compassionate post-placement program for birthmothers, designed to provide ongoing support, community, and healing. This program, free of charge, is committed to offering a nurturing space for birthmothers to find tailored support and connection.

A Community of Understanding

At the heart of Caring for Kids' mission is the promotion of a strong, understanding community for birthmothers. The post-placement program allows women to connect with others who share similar experiences, fostering an environment of mutual support and understanding.

Tailored Support for Unique Needs

Caring for Kids provides individualized support to meet the diverse needs of birthmothers. From counseling services and support groups to safe spaces for expression, the aim is to address each birthmother's unique journey with empathy and care.

Online Support

A highlight of the support program is the birthmother retreats. These retreats create a supportive environment for women who have made an adoption plan, facilitating connections, and offering resources for healing and growth. Created and facilitated by birthmothers, these retreats resonate deeply with participants, offering a blend of activities and discussions geared towards healing and community building.

Recognizing that some birthmothers may not be ready for a full retreat experience, Caring for Kids introduces "Pizza Meet-Ups." These casual gatherings offer birthmothers a chance to learn more about the retreats, connect with new people who have similar experiences, and simply have fun. Pizza Meet-Ups provide an informal setting to build relationships and explore support options within the community.

In addition to in-person support, Caring for Kids has established an online support presence. Our Caring for Birthmothers Facebook page is dedicated to birthmothers, featuring resources, positive messages, and information aimed at supporting their journey. We provide birth parent services, adoption, and options counseling. We also have a private group for online support, offering an accepting and confidential space for birthmothers to connect and share. This online community has become a vital support resource, and we encourage you to get involved.

Caring for Kids remains dedicated to supporting birthmothers through every stage of the post-adoption process. Remember, you are not alone, and a community of support awaits you.
