Nicole & Paul

Nicole and Paul are grateful for the opportunity to share their story. They approach the adoption journey with deep respect, recognizing the strength, love, and thoughtfulness it takes to consider an adoption plan.

At the heart of their lives is a simple but meaningful belief: family shows up for one another. They have built a life centered on commitment, laughter, tradition, and steady love. Their home is warm and grounded, filled with everyday moments that matter just as much as the milestones.

As you learn more about them, they hope you’ll see not only the life they’ve created together, but the kind of parents they hope to be - present, dependable, playful, and deeply devoted to raising a child who always feels safe, celebrated, and unconditionally loved.

Nicole and Paul’s story began just outside of New York City, where they met and fell in love.

Two years later, they were engaged, and two years after that, they were married.

At the time, they were both building their careers in advertising, so they began their marriage staying close to NYC, despite Nicole having grown up in Ohio. While living in the city, they spent much of their time exploring different cultures through its vibrant food scene. That love of culture naturally evolved into a love of travel. While waiting for their family to grow, they embraced the opportunity to explore the world, visiting places connected to their roots and, at times, traveling alongside their families.

Family sits at the heart of their lives and how they spend their time. They are close with their parents, grandparents, siblings, nephews, cousins, and lifelong family friends. During the pandemic, they made the decision to move to Nicole’s hometown in Ohio to help care for her grandparents. Being there reaffirmed just how deeply they value family, ultimately leading them to plant permanent roots in Ohio. Fortunately, the shift to remote work allowed them to continue growing their careers while gaining the gift of more time together at home and a steady, grounded routine.

Today, home is where they spend most of their time. It’s the place they thoughtfully built with family in mind, located in a town known for its strong sense of community and excellent schools. It’s where they decorate the front porch for every holiday, raise their two dogs, Stella and Bodi, and host gatherings ranging from Friendsgiving celebrations to Christmas Eve dinners.

They are deeply grateful for the life they’ve built together and look forward with excitement and hope to the next chapter as their family grows.

ABOUT US

Paul grew up in New Jersey and later attended Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York.

After graduating, he began his career in advertising, which brought him to Hoboken, New Jersey, an important chapter in his life and the place where he met his wife.

Eventually, they moved to Northeast Ohio to help care for her grandparents, a decision rooted in their shared belief that family shows up for one another. Ohio has since become home, offering a close-knit community and a place where they are excited to put down roots and raise a family.

Paul enjoys staying active and spending time outdoors, especially playing hockey, skiing, and traveling. He’s a big kid at heart who loves a good laugh, a little adventure, and finding joy in everyday moments. At home, their two dogs, Stella and Bodi, keep things lively and have taught him a great deal about patience, responsibility, and unconditional love.

He values being present, dependable, and supportive of the people he cares about most. He looks forward to building a home filled with warmth, encouragement, and stability, and to sharing both the big milestones and the small, everyday moments that make family life meaningful and fun.

about Paul

Nicole was born and raised in Northeast Ohio, surrounded by a family that instilled in her resilience and love.

Her mom put herself through college while raising her (a fun family fact: Nicole graduated preschool at Kent State University the same year her mom earned her degree there), and her dad served in the Marine Corps. Although her parents never married, she grew up close to both of them in homes filled with care and support.

After graduating from high school, Nicole attended her alma mater, Kent State University, where she studied Advertising. Upon earning her Bachelor’s degree, she took a leap of faith and moved to New York City to pursue her career. The move was both terrifying and exhilarating, pushing her to grow, trust herself, and embrace new experiences. That leap eventually brought her to Hoboken, New Jersey, where she met and later married Paul.

Today, Nicole lives in Northeast Ohio and works remotely at the media and marketing agency Carat. She remains closely connected to her family and friends. She is witty and playful, finding joy in the little things, traditions, inside jokes, and everyday moments that make life feel full (including beating Paul at any card game). She looks forward to being a mom who leads with humor and heart, creating a home where laughter is constant, traditions are cherished, and a child always feels safe, deeply loved, and free to be themselves.

ABOUT Nicole

Their home, built in 2021 with family in mind, is open, light-filled, and full of warmth.

Sunlight fills the main living spaces, family photos line the walls, and fireplaces glow on snowy Ohio days. The layout was designed for everyday family life, with shared spaces for gathering, movie nights, a large basement for play, and a backyard made for running, exploring, and making memories. Meaningful pieces passed down from Nicole’s great-grandmother add history and heart, making their house feel deeply personal and welcoming.

Life at home is shared with their two dogs, Stella and Bodi. Gentle and affectionate, they are very much part of the family. Stella loves attention and staying close, while Bodi is playful, curious, and always ready to entertain. Both are calm around children, comfortable with noise and activity, and used to spending time with nephews and friends’ kids. Their home life is steady, joyful, and centered on togetherness, filled with warmth, laughter, and wagging tails.
