Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Thorough case record review
Identification of interested individuals and potential permanency connections through a diligent search
Customize recruitment activities
Meet with the youth monthly, at a minimum, to develop trust and build rapport
Build a support network for the youth by meeting with significant adults and maintaining regular ongoing contact with past connections such as siblings, caregivers, relatives, professionals, and others important to the child
Child preparation for specific placement and family education regarding child’s needs
Planning for post-placement services and support
Attend regular agency meetings and events as requested
Attend educational opportunities provided by the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption
Provide ongoing assessment of child’s readiness for adoption and preparation needs
Bachelor’s degree or higher is required
Experience in child welfare, foster care or adoption is required. At least three years of experience in one of those areas is preferred
Tier I and Tier II adoption assessor training is preferred
Licensure in the State of Ohio is preferred (LSW, LISW, LPC, LPCC or equivalent).

Work is performed from home, at county buildings, and in the community, and involves frequently driving to meetings and visits with youth.
Attention to detail and confidentiality required.
This full time position (40 hours per week) has flexible hours and will involve some evenings and occasional weekend appointments.
Requires computer competency.
Ability to manage own time and schedule..

Caring for Kids, Inc. (foster care and adoption agency) is currently seeking a passionate and dedicated full-time social worker to become part of our Wendy’s Wonderful Kids team. This child focused recruiter will serve children in the custody of counties throughout the state of Ohio, and strive to find adoptive families for older and hard to place youth.

Marketing & Communications Assistant
REPORTS TO: Program Director of Agency Development and Community Engagement
The Marketing and Communications Assistant serves as an assistant to the Program Director of Agency Development and Community Engagement. This role will build relationships with potential and existing stakeholders through social media networks, online platforms, in person events, print marketing and other methods of outreach. Duties include, but are not limited to, social media and print based design, maintenance and engagement, website oversight and project based work. This person must exhibit a professional agency image through in-person and virtual interactions.
Primary Responsibilities
Develop and manage social media and digital content that builds awareness of the organization, its mission, programs, and services.
Lead marketing and communications efforts focused on foster parent recruitment and the urgent need for foster families.
Educate the community about foster care and adoption, including realities, myths, needs, and opportunities to get involved.
Create monthly and season-specific donor appeals and fundraising content highlighting current organizational needs, (ie: back-to-school, holiday, and year-end campaigns), while communicating impact and inviting community support.
Develop content for key awareness months and observances.
Create newsletters, publications, marketing materials, and other mission-focused communications.
Attend and photograph/video agency events and establish and maintain an archive of photos and consents for agency use.
Increase the organization's visibility and brand awareness through community outreach, events, partnerships, and digital platforms.
Share stories, resources, and educational content that engage youth, families, foster parents, donors, and community members.
Ensure consistency in terms of voice, branding, messaging and frequency of posting via digital and print channels of communication
Develop working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and partners
Solicit donations, corporate sponsorships and partnerships for agency fundraisers
Assist in donor and volunteer management
Assist in grant writing by providing supplementary materials as needed
Create and edit agency videos when needed
Support staff in assigned project based work and attend/support fundraisers and events involving the development and community engagement team
Assist with other administrative tasks as assigned
General Responsibilities
- Maintain hard copy and electronic filing system, as applicable
- Prepare correspondence, reports and memoranda of a confidential nature
- Review documents for accuracy, completeness and content
- Navigate and/or maintain spreadsheets
- Support staff in assigned project based work
- Provide services are in line with CFK’s mission and values
- Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in marketing, communications, social media, public relations, or a related field.
- Strong writing, editing, storytelling, and verbal communication skills.
- Experience managing social media platforms and creating engaging digital content.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and campaigns.
- Strong understanding of branding, audience engagement, and community outreach.
- Proficiency with Canva and common social media platforms.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
