Chelsea & David

Adoption has always been our plan - Chelsea was adopted and can't wait to share her experience. David is very familiar with adoption, as his mom is an adoption lawyer and he's grown close to Chelsea's family. We've been dreaming about this next step in our lives and can't wait to pour our love into a little one that couldn't be more deserving.

It's clear that you are making extraordinary decisions which requires having a strong will and character. It would be an honor to raise a child with such a beautiful beginning.

A whopping 16 years together and still going strong! We've been dating since highschool and then married after college.

Each new life stage has had a learning curve that only brought us closer together. Throughout college, we became best friends and learned how to communicate with each other. Afterwards, we moved to San Francisco and faced challenges together as well as challenged eachother's way of thinking. When we moved back to Ohio to be closer to our families, we took care of eachother as well as our families. Our plan was always to move back closer to our families when we wanted to have kids, knowing it really takes a village and is a lot more fun that way.

We've learned to take the good with the bad in our lives, and aknowledge our blessings as well as the lessons we've learned. It often leads us to think of what kind of people and what kind of parents we want to be. We remind ourselves to act with kindness and grace, and we value pereseverance, and connection. We try to treasure the little things as much as possible. And, there will be a lot more things to treasure when we are raising our family.

ABOUT US

David grew up in the suburbs playing backyard baseball and getting into mischeif with his younger brother and sister.

His Grandma's favorite story is about how he "stacked the deck" to cheat at Candyland at the age of 4 years old. He now works as a software engineer at a banking start-up where there's a healthy dose of both work and play. David brings out the playful side of Chelsea as well as setting expectations. While he is a practical person, he's also known to be a "hype man" in that he's eagerly supportive and earnestly in your corner.

about David

Chelsea will literally give you the shirt off her back.

She grew up in a big family (middle of 7 kids) where it was constantly necessary to help eachother out. She has two older half-brothers in their 50's and 4 siblings adopted from South Korea. She loves going on adventures with her siblings, and hosting game night or craft night with her friends. Chelsea's had a few office jobs, but loves her role as a part-time nanny the most. While it is literally all fun and games, it's just as wonderful to experience the growing pains and the development of her personality.

ABOUT Chelsea

We have three cats, Furry, Fred, and Big Cat.

They are very gentle with kids, and take their turns greeting visitors with "head bumps" and "slow blinks". They are sweet and playful with Chelsea, but will hide under furniture and swat at David for some reason. Maybe because they know it's entertaining to Chelsea. Before we started planning for kids, we would foster kittens from a local shelter when it was packed. We both grew up having pets (dogs, rabbits, etc), so it'll be fun to see if a pet would be a good idea for our kids later on.
